Our client sought seclusion from the everyday hustle and bustle of LA life. They found it in a beautiful mid-century gem, nestled in the Pasadena hills, originally designed and occupied by notable architect Robert Langdon. The home's aged redwood veneer blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, while its open interior spaces create an airy environment perfect for entertaining.
Our design concept aims to preserve and elevate the home's mid-century character. We approached this historically significant residence with care, modernizing it to suit the client's lifestyle. Phase one focused on expanding the primary suite and kitchen, rejuvenating both spaces to align with the client's needs. Phase two included the remodeling and expansion of the junior suite, as well as the central living and dining areas. We introduced a bar to enliven the heart of the home, complemented by a stone-clad fireplace and a cozy reading nook. The dining and living areas open fully to the outdoors, creating a seamless connection with the organically shaped pool and wooded hillside - offering a breezy, effortless entertaining experience. We carefully studied every interior detail to honor and retain the home's authentic mid-century fabric.
